Christopher Philipp, Collections Management Assistant with The Field Museum of Chicago, will visit FAM to talk about his trips to the Kuna Yala region of Panama. In 2006 and 2017 he and his wife visited the Island of Ustupu, San Blas Islands, Panama.  While there, they interviewed and recorded Kuna men and women regarding molas and mola making. He will share the adventure of these collecting trips, the scope and history of the Field Museum’s mola collection, the MLN photo survey and the Oral Histories projects.

Paint & Jewelry Classes with Cindy Bielefeldt

Resin Jewelry

Tuesday, May 8th  6-8 pm

Wednesday, May 9th  6-8 pm

Ages: 13+


This two session class will teach the process of creating jewelry with poured resin. A limitless variety of jewelry can be made using molds, adding color and. Resin requires an undisturbed day to set, so we will meet a second day to finish the pieces into wearable jewelry. All supplies are furnished. If you have a sentimental button, or piece of jewelry, ephemera or photo that you'd like to use, please bring it to the first day of class. (An inch and a half or smaller.)
