Community Mural Project

The Freeport Art Museum is pleased to annouce an opportunity for artists to participate in an interactive community mural as part of the second annual Tour de Freeport, a community-wide bike ride that includes several art interactive stops along the way. The mural project is also part of an alley activation initiative that utilizes art to create an exciting destination for people to walk, explore and remember.

Artists are asked to provide an enriching visual experience for residents and visitors by working with teen youth in grades 9-12 from the Freeport Boys & Girls Club and residents at the NCS Youth home in Freeport (ages 15-20) in the execution of the mural. Proposals should include how the artist plans to have youth involved in the project. This project is made possible, in part, to a grant from the Freeport Community Foundation.
