The art of Christina Warzecha and Kurt Kamholz
Thursday, December 13th
Social with refreshments at 5:00 pm
Presentation at 5:30 pm
Both of these artists, participating in the 15th Regional Juried Exhibition, have taken different paths in their work from what might be considered the norm. Relax with refreshments and hear their interesting stories of how their work evolved.
Christina Warzecha’s interest in contemporary craft led her to create stimulating multi-piece ceramic installations. Rather than throwing a pot on a wheel, she explores the sensuous nature of clay through pulling wrapping dripping and other methods of shaping. The results are often placed directly on walls, floors or even outdoors.
Kurt Kamholz followed the more traditional line of landscape painting until a stint as an aerial cartographer altered his work in a way that exploits the abstract designs of the farmland from a new perspective.
